rr vs kkr

rr vs kkr

Durban: Wednesday's match against Kolkata Knight Riders is a must win match for Rajasthan Royals to book a berth for themselves in the semi-finals in the Indian Premier League season 2 . Shilpa's Royals are positioned at the fifth spot on the table with 13 points from 13 matches. Defending champs have won 6 matches in the tournament so far. Winning today's match won't be much difficult for RR as Kolkata Knight Riders are already out of the race for semis. But it won't be that easy either, after their stupendous win against the strong Chennai side.Royals need to work on their batting line up which failed miserably in their match against Delhi Daredevils, although the bowlers are doing a good job. It would be interesting to see whether the rival team KKR can give a tough competition to the defending champs.

Feast your eyes on what a group of scientists call the Holy Grail of human evolution.
A team of researchers Tuesday unveiled an almost perfectly intact fossil of a 47 million-year-old primate they say represents the long-sought missing link between humans and apes.
Officially known as Darwinius masillae, the fossil of the lemur-like creature dubbed Ida shows it had opposable thumbs like humans and fingernails instead of claws.
Scientists say the cat-sized animal's hind legs offer evidence of evolutionary changes that led to primates standing upright - a breakthrough that could finally confirm Charles Darwin's theory of evolution.
"This specimen is like finding the Lost Ark for archeologists," lead scientist Jorn Hurum said at a ceremony at the American Museum of Natural History.

stotesbury cup regatta 2009

stotesbury cup regatta 2009
Philadelphia — It wasn’t very long ago that Mount St. Joseph was the supreme queen of the Stotesbury Regatta. In 2005 and 2006, it was the Mount’s senior eight that hoisted the Robert Engman trophy on the Schuylkill River’s awards dock. At the time, there was little reason to believe that the trend would end. The Mount’s crew program was seemingly growing stronger by the year. But while the Mount was growing, Bishop Eustace was skyrocketing. The program began in 2001 and was incorporated into the Pennsauken, N.J. school as a varsity sport in the spring of 2007. The year before, the team showed impressive progress by reaching the senior eight finals at Stotesbury. It was 2007, though, that changed everything. The Crusaders, or “Crew-saders,” as they sometimes call themselves, slipped past Canada’s E.L. Crossley to capture the Robert Engman trophy. The Mount could only watch from its position in fourth place.

pimlico racetrack With the 134th Preakness States one day away, and with a good two years under my belt of failing to read beyond the headlines, I thought I’d finally take the time to attempt to make sense of this mess of bankruptcy, the end of the Freakness, Kevin Plank, slots, etc. that forms the current state of the Maryland horseracing industry. Even after I finished, I could only sigh, “well, it’s a start.” A recent political quote nicely sums up the most current debacle in Maryland Racing while also providing some unintentional insight: “It would be akin to saving Santa but losing the North Pole,” Joseph Bryce, O’Malley’s chief legislative officer, quipped when asked why the State of Maryland might, through eminent domain, attempt to secure the rights to both the Preakness (Santa) and Pimlico (North Pole).

It used to be easy to guess how many Americans would have problems paying their credit card bills. Banks just looked at unemployment: Fewer jobs meant more trouble ahead. The unemployment rate has long mirrored banks’ loss rates on card balances. But Eddie Ward, 32 and jobless, may be one reason that rule of thumb no longer holds. For many lenders, losses are now starting to outpace layoffs.
Mr. Ward, of Arkansas, lost his job at a retail warehouse in April and so far has managed to make minimum payments on his credit card debt, which he estimates at $15,000 to $20,000. Asked whether he thinks he will be able to pay off his balance, he said, “Not unless I win the lottery.”

Journalist to be freed from Tehran prison
TEHRAN, May 11 (UPI) -- Iranian officials said they plan to release imprisoned U.S. free-lance journalist Roxana Saberi Monday, her father said.
A three-judge panel met for five hours Sunday to consider Saberi's appeal of her eight-year prison sentence for an espionage conviction.
Reza Saberi, the journalist's father, told CNN he was waiting outside Tehran's Evin prison for his daughter's release.
Saberi was sentenced to eight years in prison in April for espionage during a one-day, closed-door trial. She engaged in a two-week hunger strike to protest her imprisonment, ending it last Monday after her parents pleaded with her to resume eating.
